the distractions are a sketch group currently residing/writing/performing in Toronto. Their individual names are Paul, Levi, and Tim.
They have been together since 2002. Along with The Understudies, they created Tuesday Sketchday, a monthly show that ran from
2002-2004 at Clinton's Tavern. They are also the co-creators of the Comedy And A. series (along with Knock Knock. Who's There? Comedy!
and musician Bob Wiseman). These shows have been running since early 2004 at the Rivoli in downtown Toronto.
Each month they perform a full set of all-new material.
Levi MacDougall was once called "master of the surreal observation" by NOW Magazine. Despite this, he appears regularly at many mainstream and alternative stages. He is a past Phil Hartman Award nominee and a former winner of the Tim Sims Encouragement Award. Television-wise, he has appeared on CTV'sOpen Mike with Mike Bullard, The Toronto Show, Comedy Network's Cream of Comedy, popcultured with Elvira Kurt, and his own CTV Comedy Now! stand-up special. Levi recently appeared on Andy Kindler's Alternative Show at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. He has won two Canadian Comedy Awards (in Writing and Performance) and was nominated for a 2005 Gemini Award in the category of Best Performance in a Comedy Program.

Paul has been writing and performing improv, sketch and standup comedy in Calgary and Toronto for the past seven years. After winning Yuk Yuk's Funniest New Comic in Alberta competition in the year 2000, Paul moved to Toronto with his friend Levi MacDougall, who he met at Calgary's Loose Moose Theatre and graduated with honors from The Humber School of Comedy in Toronto. He has been featured performing standup on CTV's Open Mike with Mike Bullard, the Comedy Network’s Yuk Yuk's Search For Canada's Funniest New Comic and in three appearance's on Toronto One's The Toronto Show.
